Random Tandom

Keep Me in the Shallow Waters

I am neither deep nor shallow. While I am sure there is some meaning to life, I have never pondered it. However, while driving my 89 Volvo to work the other morning I passed by a brand new beautiful Bentley and found it necessary to speak some positive affirmations. "I am not defined by the car I drive" I said. "What am I defined by?" I was forced to question. My looks? My income? My random personality? I quickly concluded that I will give myself some time and be defined by what I leave behind.

Back To School Mama

Check out the new blog Back To School Mama; an online journal of a single mother starting college with a 3 year old in pre-school. This honest and witty blog will discuss the experiences of its 25 year old author, as well as bring you advice on making it through school as a parent, and helping preschoolers find their way. Follow her and experience the journey through her eyes. Happy school season.

What the EF?

US propaganda against Cuba

I am outraged that the country i live in would do such a thing as this. I am so glad President Obama turned it off! http://bit.ly/Ezs78

G-Baby Stories

I asked my gbaby if he wanted to go to Mcdonald's for an orange juice this morning and he said, "no, I want to go to Starbucks!" So it's off to Starbucks we go.

This is a great tribute cartoon to Michael.

Treasure's from Twitter

@ideasoutloud is fun to follow. His website is cool too.
I love the name as it is contrary to my fear of saying my ideas out loud.

Tamela's Travels

Saturday in the park, you'd think it was the Fourth of July

Anyway, woke bright and early (June 13, 2009 - gbaby 3rd birthday). Lots of people to get ready in 3 rooms at the Super 8 but we only arrived a little later than expected. The look on my gbaby's face was priceless. I had not been to Disneyland for 21 years since my 2 oldest children were too young to remember. We had a plan through RideMax which is a program that mapped out our entire day so that we would not have to wait in any lines. That plan was set aside as the friends we were with had lots of Disneyland experience. Lots and lots of fun! Waited no longer than 15 minutes for rides. Gbaby is 40 inches tall so could go on alot of rides including The Matterhorn which he loved so much that they went on twice. I watched baby while others went on bigger rollercoasters as I am terrified of them. Kept seeing teenagers dressed in large pants or cute colorful outfits and lots of colorful bracelets. My kids told me that they were Ravers. They were all very polite and seemed sweet. I later found that it was Raver Day at Disneyland (not sponsered by Disneyland). I wish I had taken some pictures of them. So we rode almost every ride and let at midnight when they closed. We did miss ToonTown accidently which was disappointing but a good excuse to go back soon.
There is lots more to tell but must get ready for work now.

Tamela's Travels

Back from Cali on Tuesday evening. Had a great time. Left Thursday at 8pm after work with daughter & gbaby . Arrived in Anaheim at 4am Friday. Long drive! Stayed at Super 8 on Katella Ave and was delighted to find that while cheap, it was not sleazy at all. The rooms (3 rooms) were very clean, large & comfortable. Great water pressure in the shower. The shower head was short which is good for me but not the other guests. The staff was very accommodating & friendly. I definitely will stay at Super 8 for other vacations. We slept for about 4hrs on Friday then hung out around Anaheim & Downtown Disney for awhile. Downtown Disney was a cool outdoor shopping area with great music piped through the streets and beautiful water fountains. Late Friday evening the rest of the crew showed up. Daughter, Son in Law & family friends. Up late that night.....More about trip to Cali in next post.

June already?

It's June & this is my first blog of 2009!! It's because my mind has been skipping, jumping rope & playin'. Kinda hard to focus.
